DAVEY O'BRIEN FOUNDATION
A unique and vital piece of history is found within the 11th floor in the Davey O'Brien Hall of Fame. The Fort Worth Club and the historic Davey O'Brien foundation share a heritage as the organization was founded by a group of Fort Worth Club members and the foundation, to this day, is housed within The Fort Worth Club building.
The Davey O'Brien Hall of Fame is located on the 11th floor next to the Davey O'Brien Sports Lounge. Davey O’Brien’s longtime friend and business partner, Charles Ringler, believed that accomplishments and commitment of one of Fort Worth’s finest sports heroes deserved to be honored and remembered. In November 1977, just before O’Brien passed away from cancer, Ringler and other members of The Fort Worth Club established the Davey O’Brien Foundation and Davey O’Brien Memorial Trophy. To this day, the Davey O’Brien Award honors candidates who exemplify Davey O’Brien’s enduring character while exhibiting teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership in both academics and athletics. This award has evolved to three awards given annually, which are housed on the 11th floor of The Fort Worth Club in the Davey O’Brien Hall of Fame.
